That “Moon cube” mystery? Scientists have an explanation

In December the world was associated with a strange mystery that looked strange seen on the surface of the moon by Yutu-2 rover China. Now, a new post from Driver Rover on Chinese speaking WeChat offers several explanations about a strange little cube.

With a massive public interest in the cube – not to mention the potential scientific value – The Yutu-2 Rover towards straight for the structure is so built from a two-week sleep at night. The drivers say they want to examine as many cubes as possible even from a distance, because the terrain in the moon is not evenly distributed and will be difficult and time consuming for explorers to travel to the cube itself.

The rover driver found that they could tilt the rover image sensor in the “Head Up” posture that allowed the sensor to reach up to 30 meters (98ft) away. They also make some adjustments on the driving schedule to make the driving rover more efficient.

This has allowed explorers to approach mysterious objects, and are currently parked in a narrow crater while waiting for the sun to return after a two-week night so that it can be explored further. It also allows explorers to see better cubes.

Unfortunately, when it was seen from close, the cube turned out to be a cube or all mysterious. According to the Wechat post, there seems to be a relatively small piece of stone. It is close to a collision crater, so it can be a piece of debris that is thrown away when objects such as comets or asteroids affect the moon.

The driver described themselves as “a little disappointed” that the cottage who seemed to impose it turned out to be much smaller when approached. But the team was still having fun, said that they thought the stone looked like a rabbit with the stones in front of her resembling carrots. You have to narrow to see it, but it is permatically according to the name Rover, Yutu, means “Jade Rabbit.”

Now, the Yutu-2 rover will continue to explore the moon. The recent mission celebrates the third anniversary since the landing, as Lander Chang’e 4 containing Rover touched the surface of the month on January 3, 2019.
