Instagram may have stopped a controversial redesign, but that does not mean the company plans to stop focusing on full screen content. During his weekly, ask anything today, CEO Adam Mosseri confirmed that Instagram will start testing photos that are very high 9:16 “in one or two weeks.”
“You can have a high video, but you can’t have high photos on Instagram,” Mosseri said. “So we think maybe we should make sure we treat both of them equally.” At present, Instagram is at the top of about 4: 5 when displaying vertical images that have been cut accordingly. But introducing support to be slimmer, a higher photo 9:16 will help them fill the entire screen when you scroll the application bait.
Re -designs such as Instagram Tiktok are criticized by several photographers because of how to force all photos to be displayed awkwardly in the frame 9:16. New bait also adds an overlay gradient to the bottom of the post so that the text will be easier to read. But it was a clash with the original appearance of the photographer. This is a good view of Thomas Fitzgerald’s initial experiment.
During the Instagram redesign test that was shaken with the user, Mosseri admitted more than once that the full screen experience was not ideal for photos. Now we see that Instagram is still very intended to display a very high-photo experience without mandating it on the entire board.
Company data itself shows that the design of Overhaled Instagram is very disliked by some people so they start using applications less frequently. “I think we need to take a big step back, reunite, and find out how we want to move forward,” he said in an interview last week. Instagram also said that it would reduce the amount of recommendations shown to users until it was better to choose content that they would actually enjoy.
