Why you should really stop charging your phone overnight

What is the best way to charge the iPhone to get the longest battery life? I asked myself this question and decided to do an experiment to find out.

Before going to sleep, I used to do what millions of other people did: I used my iPhone to charge all night.

But why do we do this?

The iPhone can switch from zero to 50% costs in about 30 minutes using a 20W charger, and then charged full fees in less than two hours.

Given that the iPhone can charge so fast, it doesn’t make sense that we connect it to the charger for eight hours a day. It succeeded in one third of his life.

Now, Apple has grilled the optimized battery charging to iOS, which stops the iPhone from charging once the battery reaches 80% and only adds the last 20% in time for you to wake up in the morning. But this still means that the iPhone is attached to power all night.

And that still charges power, even at a slower level. This is how to remain at 80%.

So why is it bad leaving your cellphone connected to a charger for a long time?

Hot.

Heat is a battery killer. Although there is nothing you can do about the normal wear released by the battery from what is filled and repatritable, heat is something you can do. When your iPhone is connected to the charger, it becomes warm – warmer than if it is not connected, and even though the increase may be only a few degrees above the room temperature, doing this overnight, every night, it seems not smart for me.

Instead of charging at night, I give one or two fees during the day. This is a filling schedule that suits me:

I wore it for 30 to 45 minutes in the morning after I woke up (I also charge my Apple Watch at the same time).
Then I collect him around mid -afternoon for about 30 minutes or more to bring it to the 80%sign, which will usually be enough to see me until the next morning.
Note that if I will spend a lot of time in the car or outside and surroundings, I will also use a car charger or bring an electric bank with me.

This system works well, and I believe it makes less stress on the iPhone battery (time will tell) and a charger. It also made me plan where I needed a charger, so I didn’t only rely on the bed sideways.

And when I was at home, working on the road, or traveling, this charging regime did not disappoint me.

Because people always ask, I still charge using cables rather than wireless, and I use a 20W Anker Nano USB-C charger. For portable power banks, I have used a 5,000 mAh power bank with candy size and a larger 10,000 mAh 10,000 mAh powercore. Both are portable, rough, reliable, and fantastic electricity banks. Don’t forget to bring charging cables!
